What I Do
In a nutshell, I'm just here to be here for you. Foster care is full of ups and downs, that's for sure. I want you to know (and feel!) that you're not alone - in any of it. I utilize my skills as a therapist to help you process your emotions and take the next right step, as well as my experience as a foster mama to hold space for you and encourage you from someone who knows what it's like.
Foster care has brought our family incredible joy, as well as incredible opportunities for growth. Sometimes, that growth can be painful. In seasons when it feels like you're fighting an uphill battle, or that no one else in your life really "gets it," or well-intentioned loved ones say the wrong thing, you just yearn for a different type of support. You deserve it. And frankly, you need it. Foster care isn't something we were meant to do alone.
You're stronger than you think you are. But if you're anything like me, you need a little guidance and support at times. In other words, you just want someone to tell you what works.
You're in the right place.
"Cathleen is truly a gift! I'm a better woman, wife, mom, and Christ follower because of her."
You get to have Cathleen there with you, giving you the support you need!"
On each private, 45 minute call with me, I can answer your questions and provide guidance specific to your exact situation.
My course, Fear Less teaches you all the evidence based skills that WORK to overcome anxiety, stress, and overwhelm.
Not sure where to start? Let's chat for 15 minutes (for free) and I'll point you in the right direction!
“I used to think you had to be special for God to use you, but now I know you simply need to say yes."
Sometimes, it feels safer to speak one on one, and that's ok. There are a lot of details in foster care that shouldn't be shared in a group setting anyway. For that reason, I provide private, 45 minute calls via Zoom, FaceTime, or phone. I can help you with processing difficult emotions, parenting troubleshooting, and much more.
When you need someone to answer questions or provide guidance specific to your unique situation, a coaching call will do just that.
You have a specific struggle you'd like to work through and get actionable solutions for STAT.
Course + Community
When anxiety and stress are present for too long, everyone around us starts to feel the effects, which can lead us directly to mom guilt (without passing Go or collecting $200). The good news? Once you learn the evidence based skills that WORK to overcome anxiety, the game is permanently changed! You win, and so does everyone around you.
My Fear Less course + community are a game changer for those who struggle with stress and anxiety. And let's be honest...the uncertainty of foster care can bring those to the surface like nothing else!
You want to learn the exact skills needed to overcome anxiety + stress; you'd like ongoing support.
"As I work through the Fear Less course, I find I am so much better able to decide what I need to move through anxious times."
Anxiety is a part of life, there's no getting around it (especially in foster care!). But when you can easily access the right coping skills, you take anxiety's power away. It no longer rules your life, it's just something you notice and deal with and keep on truckin'.
Yes, It Really Works
"You need the Fear Less course to add to your life toolbox! Period."
Rather than wasting time (and money!) trying every fad Google recommends to overcome anxiety, why not take it from a therapist who specializes in the treatment of anxiety? Save time AND money by learning the skills at home, whenever it's best for your busy schedule.
"In a word, working with Cathleen is amazing. She has an endless supply of compassion and knowledge."
I provide a safe space for you to land, while you provide a safe space for kiddos. It's as simple as that. When you need someone to GET IT, someone to hold space for all your feels, and guide you to the actions that will bring more peace and joy to your foster care journey, it would be my honor to do just that for you.
